No end in sight as oil spews into Gulf
No end is in sight as oil continues to spew from the ocean floor at the blow out in the Gulf of Mexico. The ever growing oil slick is threatening the Louisiana coastline with the rest of the Gulf coast in danger as well. It will be at least another week before any solutions can be put into effect.
Dead sea turtles are already washing ashore and unfortunately that is just the beginning to the environmental damage this oil spill will cause. Everything engineers have tried so far has failed Crews continued to lay boom in what increasingly feels like a futile effort to slow down the spill, with all ideas to contain the flow failing so far.
Teams working to contain the spill have had limited success using airplanes to drop chemical dispersants meant to break up the oil, and rough seas have prevented ships from skimming crude from the surface. The oil probably will keep gushing for months until a second well can be dug to cut off the first.
President Obama visited the area over the weekend and had this to say, "BP is responsible for this leak. BP will be paying the bill." Unfortunately, this disaster is much, much more about money.
