Next Generation Wind Turbine ramping up Energy Production
A next generation wind turbine design offers the possibilty of generating up to three times the power from the current wind turbine design. The new wind turbine design offered by Dragonfly Industries looks more like a jet engine than a tradition wind turbine. The theory is much the same as a jet engine as well. The object is to use the turbine design to speed up the wind within the turbine.
Current wind turbines only extract 50% of the wind's energy and are only working about 40% of the time. The Dragonfly design uses a three chamber turbine in which the wind is sped up in each chamber as it passes thru the turbine. The result is an energy production up to three times a typical wind turbine. The new technology is termed the “Body Ring Airfoil”.
The Dragonfly Wind Turbine should have far-reaching potential in the wind energy field as the technology is further developed and tested.
