Nutritional tips for your home garden
Every good gardener understands the need for added nutrients to their garden. Fertilizers and compost just aid in garden health as well as garden yields. Through photosynthesis plants produce their own food. Adding nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium can help stimulate photosynthesis creating healthier plants and gardens.
One major fertilizer is potassium. It combines with oxygen to form potassium oxide which is commonly known as potash which encourages flowering and seed quality. Potassium also enhances the disease resistant plant qualities.
Nitrogen is another necessity for your garden fertilizing. It is the most important element for plant growth. The lack of adequate nitrogen may result in lower-leaf drop, stunted growth, and an overall faded-out appearance.
Finally there is phosphorus. The presence of adequate phosphorus insures a vigorous root system and a sturdy stem. The element’s major importance is in speeding plant maturation and therefore development of flower buds.
So make sure you fertilize and fortify your spring gardens as they will be much healthier as well as yiled loads more fresh vegetables for your family.
